Filthy Frank vs JOJi
Filthy Frank vs JOJi
by Frank Legend
Come on. The answer is easy. Filthy Frank is better. Being an OG on Youtube and by that I mean I been on this site too damn long, we all know Filthy Frank is hands down the best creation George Kusunoki Miller ever made on Youtube.
Here’s a copy and paste from wikipedia to learn more about Filthy Frank.
“George Kusunoki Miller (ジョージ・楠木・ミラー, Jōji Kusunoki Mirā, born 18 September 1992[2]), better known by his stage name Joji and formerly by his online aliasesFilthy Frank and Pink Guy, is a Japanese singer-songwriter, record producer, author, and former Internet personality, YouTuber, and comedian.” – Wikipedia
That’s his true identity according to Wikipedia. But you probably know him as that weird guy in a pink suit that started the Harlem Shake dance craze on YouTube. Yup that’s Filthy Frank. Currently stands at 64 Million views in 35 seconds. More on that later.
Tick Tock by Joji
Now the reason why I’m writing this article is because recently I caught up on Joji’s new music and wow I gotta say it’s actually good!
My top songs from Joji so far are Tick Tock, Pretty Boy ft Lil Yatchy and Yeah Right. As a music enthusiast I immediately had to review his music and kind of decipher the sounds he was creating. So for starters let me add my 2 cents on this.
Nelly Sample?
Joji’s Tick Tock song sounds VERY similar to Nelly’s song called Dilemma featuring Kelly Rowland except more emo in a way.
I am totally judging Joji’s music right now but not hating on it cuz every artist is influenced by someone else’s music. It’s not a surprising thing but I really wonder if he did listen to this song first and decided to cop that “ahhhw” sound which just ties the whole song together nicely.
Overall
All in all, I am pleasantly surprised by Joji’s music talent and can’t wait to hear him go mainstream and have his music all over the world. Having grown up on Youtube and been on that platform for a long time, it’s always inspiring to see Youtubers really “make it” out of YT. It encourages myself and other creatives to really continue and not limit ourselves to just the youtube platofrm. I personally think Joji is still developing his sound and has potential to become a really big artist in the next 5 years. I really do wish him the best in his music career and still will always remember him as Filthy Frank and Pink Guy.
Those characters were so crazy and insane when I first subscribed to his channel that I really can’t believe he got away with some pretty explosive comments and shocking videos he produced during his time on YouTube. Here’s a clip of his style.
If you don’t know who Filthy Frank is then you might want to watch these videos to get an idea of the type of shit posting he did back in the day lol A lot of people don’t realize Filthy Frank is an icon for a lot of memes and was the guy that started the Harlem shake dance. His multiple personas from the Filthy Frank show became viral and memorable. His fans loved him so much they even created an anime opening using multiple clips from his old videos in a compilation video that’s styled as the opening to Naruto Shippudden.
Looking back at his content today, I am really shocked he still has these videos up because of all this crazy cancel culture that exists in today’s society but props to him for standing his ground. George has stayed true to his art and although Filthy Frank’s show ended a new chapter has started in the multiverse and it’s titled, Joji.
